By: Sacred Heart School The twelve week, introductory course is designed to teach students essential Italian words and phrases. Instructor, Filippo Toscano, a native Italian, will focus on communication skills used in real-life situations: ordering food, arranging transportation, shopping, and finding the sights in this beautiful country. Students will also get an inside look at different cultural aspects including local cuisine, customs, points of interest, and differences between the many regions. Toscano has a long history of teaching his native language. He has taught in Braintree, Hingham, and Duxbury adult education programs. “His passion for both education and his culture are very apparent. When he enters the classroom, you can feel his enthusiasm which creates a fun and lively learning atmosphere.” Classes will meet at the Sacred Heart High School every Thursday from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., from January 14 through April 7. This extensive course is open to the public and students of all ages are welcome. The course comes at a low cost of $199, which includes text book and CD.
