Dec. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- The IJIS Institute—a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing and safeguarding for justice, public safety, and homeland security—will host the 6th Annual Badge & Tech Benefit & Awards Dinner on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, Virginia. Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be the Presenting Sponsor for the Benefit. Proceeds of the Benefit will be donated to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America’s law enforcement officers and to promoting officer safety.

“AWS is dedicated to supporting law enforcement and public safety agencies, and we look forward to supporting IJIS’ Badge & Tech Benefit, an important event that recognizes agencies and individuals who are making valuable contributions to the justice and public safety field,” said Max Peterson, General Manager of Partners, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services, Inc.

IJIS Institute Executive Director, Steve Ambrosini, said, “not only is the Benefit an opportunity for our members and practitioners to enjoy an evening of networking, it is a time for us to support worthy causes, such as the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, so they can continue to honor those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.” Ambrosini noted, “we are gratified that our newest Sustaining Member, AWS, will be the Presenting Sponsor for this important event.”

Craig Floyd, chairman and CEO of NLEOMF, will not only represent the Memorial Fund at the Benefit, but will be the Benefit’s special guest speaker. “I look forward to sharing this special evening with the IJIS Institute and its guests in support of law enforcement and other first responders who work hard to keep our communities safe,” said Mr. Floyd. To open the evening, the keynote speaker will be Vince Talucci, executive director of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
