Press Release (UPDATED 12.17.15)

Little (BIG) Break junior skills challenge 2016
This event benefits “Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer One Stroke at a Time”

(BOCA RATON, FLORIDA – December 15, 2015)
The Little (BIG) Break is an outdoor event for junior golfers to compete against their peers from all over South Florida on January 23, 2016.  Juniors play in qualifying skills challenges throughout the morning, then the top players in each age group move on to the afternoon finals.  With giant trophies and bragging rights, the juniors celebrate their abilities in a fun and competitive atmosphere.

This year the Little (BIG) Break will be teaming up with Alec & Elle Nachmann, two top junior golfers, to help raise money for “Kids Helping Kids Fight Cancer One Stroke at a Time”.  Alec & Elle’s goal is to raise $15,000 for the Morgan Pressel Foundation and support Morgan’s efforts against cancer.

During the event there will be fun golf events for all ages and skill levels.  Don Law, LPGA Tour star Jaye Marie Green, Saint Andrew’s girl’s golf coach & LPGA Tour caddie Matt Green and former New York NBC sportscaster Don Gould will make appearances to support this great cause.

All junior players 15 and under are welcome to participate in the skills challenge for $35. (Advanced sign up for the skills challenge is required.)  If you are not a junior or even a golfer you can play our carnival style fund raising golf games during the day. There are prizes to be won such as golf foursomes, autographed items by Morgan Pressel, golf equipment, gift cards and much more.

Who we are:

"KIDS HELPING KIDS FIGHT CANCER ONE STROKE AT A TIME"

Alec and Elle Nachmann are currently 8th-graders at Saint Andrew's School in Boca Raton, Florida and are junior golfers who are trying to make a difference in their community!  Don Law will host the event at Osprey Point Golf Course on January 23, 2016 alongside Alec and Elle.

There are a few facts about cancer that everyone should know:

Cancer is the leading cause of death for both men and women, other than heart disease

• More specifically, 1 out of every 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer
• For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, other than lung
• In 2015, approximately 40,000 women will die from breast cancer

With early detection, increased awareness, new treatments and research, we can make a difference and save lives. Working with the Morgan Pressel Foundation we can achieve our goals.

“We are determined to beat cancer and help find a cure "one stroke at a time!"

Your support will help raise awareness and support for families who are battling cancer, specifically breast cancer. Right now there is a kid’s mom, aunt, sister, grandmother, or friend in the fight for their lives and we must help!  We can do this together with your help!!

Our goals include:

• Raising awareness of the need to raise funds for charities that promote early cancer detection & diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and research.
• Our monetary goal is to raise between $10,000-$15,000 in three phases.

1)    Golf Event Fundraiser: We are coordinating a junior event in the Boca Raton for kids and their families with the Don Law Golf Academy at Osprey Point.  Funds will be raised through donations and events/golf challenges for prizes.  Some events will include putting, chipping, and driving contests to earn donated golf equipment, gift certificates, as well as any other items (autographed merchandise from Morgan Pressel and other LPGA/PGA tour players.

2)    Donation Solicitation: We will make efforts to contact friends & family in the community and greater community to help contribute in any way they can with one time donations.

3)     Birdies for Donations: Through AJGA's Leadership Links, we will dedicate our 2016     season towards raising cancer awareness & funds benefiting the Morgan Pressel Foundation.  We will solicit funds for every birdie we make throughout the year.
