New book: “A Success Failure: The Complete Series: By: Okisha Jackson

AUSTIN, Texas - Dec. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- If you fell in love with Goldie Hawn’s award winning performance in the movie Private Benjamin, chances are pretty good you will thoroughly enjoy “A Successful Failure: The Complete Series,” a trilogy by author, Okisha Jackson.

Make no mistake, this story is far from a cushy one about a princess who enlists in the US Army on a whim. Rather it centers on the main character, Shauna Jackson, who is a strong heroine that grabs your attention from the get-go. She opts to enlist in the military after high school and finds herself battling with adversities from the workplace; suffering hardship from destructive relationships; and balancing the challenges of parenthood all while trying to maintain her faith.

We interviewed Ms. Jackson and asked her why she decided to write a fictional character instead of writing a more straightforward memoir? She said, “I really wanted to write it as a memoir because the characters life (Shauna) is parallel to mine. The reason I didn’t was for legal protection, however, if the reader feels the story is non-fiction, I believe they will get there answer on the very last page.”

Readers will understand and empathize, bringing realism and authenticity to provoke reflective thoughts. They will also find the novel exciting as well as inspirational, especially those who maybe struggling within his or her own life looking to make a positive transformation. Even if you’re not a devoutly religious or a faith-seeking person you may stumble upon an insightful experience that could help you. The author’s style is very straightforward, which makes it easy to comprehend, and enjoyable to read.

This author hopes people will walk away with these clear messages after reading this book, “I want people to know that believing in God doesn’t stop bad things from happening to us; we live in a fallen world. At some point in our lives, we have made poor choices, but Jesus is always there to forgive us with love and help us if we decide to choose him.”

Okisha Jackson is a military brat, an army veteran, a minister, and has a master’s degree in education. She is a proud caretaker to her mother and three sons.
