Housing for All Community Posada 5:30 pm Monday, December 14 San Jose CA

Affordable Housing Network and the Silicon Valley Renters Rights Coalition are organizing a “Housing for All Community Posada” at 5:30 pm on Monday, December 14, 2015

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Dec. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Posada is a Christmas-inspired celebration of the Biblical story of Mary and Joseph’s search for housing in Bethlehem on the night when Jesus was born. The community is invited to participate in re-enacting their procession from place to place seeking room at the inn. Their journey resembles the trials of tenants, low-wage workers, unemployed, seniors, and people with disabilities when they try to find a place to live in Silicon Valley today. The story reminds us that when we as a community work together, unite spiritually, and care for one another, we can overcome these obstacles and create a better future for ourselves and for our children.

The Posada will begin at First Unitarian Church, 160 N. Third Street in downtown San Jose. It will proceed by Christmas in the Park and end at City Hall. Please join us!

TIME:   5:30 PM MONDAY, DECEMBER 14

START:    FIRST UNITARIAN CHURCH, 160 N. THIRD STREET, SAN JOSE

END:    SAN JOSE CITY HALL, 200 E. SANTA CLARA STREET, SAN JOSE
