At COP21 Paris, Environmentalists Launch Crowdfunding Platform for Green Enterprises, Green Politics
Dubbed, Crowdgreen, the new platform will focus on building a global green community for sharing skills, tasks, referrals, suggestions, ideas, and resources (both financial and in-kind).

Organizers say the new platform will foremost focus on building a global green community. ”Crowdgreen is different from almost all existing crowdfunding platforms in one important respect: While other platforms expect you to bring your own crowd to their platforms so that they (your crowd) can fund your project then you all leave, Crowdgreen is actually a perpetual community, where members endeavor to learn about each other's aspirations, and develop rapport for long term mutual support,” explained Liz Myers of London Environmental Network.
Myers explained that support for each other's project is not restricted to short term financial interests. “members will be encouraged to help each other's projects in kind through skills, tasks, referral, suggestions, ideas, barter, sharing resources and of course, some financial contribution.
The founders expect a unique global platform playing a much needed role in climate change and environmental policy design and implementation. “global protocols like the COP 21 are a moral guideline at best. Real change happens at the local city level where people live. Crowdgreen will help trigger action no matter where we each are,” said Tegi Obanda of the Green Planet Foundation Inc.
In what they see as a turning point in giving environmentalists a voice in public policy, organizers emphasize the platform’s role: “Green innovations will get to market faster. Green politics that influence governmental policy is stuck in neutral in almost every country except Germany,” explained Obanda. “This is because they are often underfunded. Crowdgreen will help them not only with the means to mobilize resources in their jurisdictions in accordance with local electoral laws, but will also help them with winning ideas and messaging.”
In the end, business ideas and actions plans to save our environment start flourishing, and everyone is a winner.
