LOS ANGELES - Dec. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- The 48FILM Project is honored to announce that one of the top television and film directors, TJ Scott of ‘Gotham’ and ‘Longmire’ fame, has joined as a juror for the 2015 competition.

The short film competition made headlines earlier this FALL by announcing the $100,000 (one hundred thousand dollars, USD) budget to film a feature film as Grand Prize.

TJ Scott is a Film and Television Director/Writer/Photographer based in Los Angeles. His recent TV work includes directing the hit series ‘Spartacus’ for Starz, ‘Gotham’ for Fox, the critically acclaimed BBC America series ‘Orphan Black’ and ‘Copper,’ the Netflix original series ‘Hemlock Grove,’ ‘The Transporter’ for HBO/Cinemax, ‘Constantine’ for NBC, ‘Black Sails’ for Starz, and ‘12 Monkeys’ and ‘Bitten’ for Syfy.

TJ also recently completed the independent movie ‘Death Valley,’ which he co-wrote, directed, and produced. His previous movie ‘Deadliest Sea’ was nominated for five Gemini Awards in Canada, including Best Movie and Best Director. TJ has also directed award-winning episodes of ‘Xena,’ ‘Hercules,’ ‘Nikita,’ and his episode of ‘Playmakers’ was listed by the American Film Institute as one of the Top 10 episodes of television of the year.

As a writer, TJ’s ‘Tracers’, starring Taylor Lautner, has recently been released and his bio pic ‘Vivaldi’ is being produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. In addition, Chris Columbus has signed on to direct his script ‘The Secret Lives of Road Crews’ at Paramount. TJ has also directed his own scripts ‘Mayday,’ adapted from the Nelson DeMille novel for CBS, ‘Blacktop’ for HBO, and Legacy, which opened the Las Vegas Film Festival.

As a photographer, TJ’s coffee table book IN THE TUB was released world in November 2013. TJ has also been published in 24 magazines, photographed 12 magazine covers, and produced 250+ pages of editorial and fashion content.

With his highly trained eye and knowledge of directing, Mr. Scott will be instrumental in selecting the 2015 48FILM Project Best Film and Best Director winners.  Winning films will be screened at the 2015 award ceremony in Los Angeles, California on February 9, 2016 at the Director’s Guild of America.

The 48FILM Project online festival is open to everyone: beginner to professional, from all nations.  Once registered, a competing team selects a genre and importantly: when they want to start the clock. 48FILM Project provides three (3) elements that are required to be included: a character, a line and a prop. Filmmakers then have forty eight (48) hours to create a short film in English or with English subtitles, four (4) to seven (7) minutes in length and upload it to https://www.48filmproject.com/competition/2015/register. Creators retain the rights to their own intellectual property.
