Friendly Human, IBM, Delta Airlines and dozens of other corporate sponsors participated in the 48in48 event to give back to local non-profits. This unique event was designed to provide 48 Atlanta-based nonprofits the opportunity to receive the best in graphic design and web development – all for free! 48in48 took place Friday October 2nd through Sunday October 4th at the General Assembly located at 675 Ponce de Leon Avenue in Atlanta.

Adam Walker, co-founder of the historical event, explains the motivation behind 48in48, “Nonprofits spend all they have doing good, not looking good. Think about how much more they could do if they looked good too.”

To bring this event to life, over 100 graphic designers, content writers, and web developers volunteered to work side by side with nonprofit representatives to help build 48 websites in 48 hours.

"We were so excited to support such a great cause. These organizations are doing phenomenal work in the community, and we wanted to share our creativity and passion for storytelling to help them share their voice and mission with the world," commented Daniel Roberts, CEO of Friendly Human.

During the event each nonprofit was assigned a team of two developers and one designer to capture their vision into a customized and professional website. UX designers, graphic artists, and content writers rotated between the teams, working together to craft expert web copy and design elements for each website – matching professional talent with nonprofit visionaries.

At the end of the event the 48 nonprofits each received all of the digital files for their brand new, professionally built website. They were also coached on the next steps to officially launch their website online.

With over $1,000,000 in professional resources used over the three days, the participants left the event with websites and marketing assets that both embodied their key purpose and would help them generate more visibility for their respective causes. There were also fun highlights during the event including a surprise dinner from Daniel Roberts - giving the entire group fuel to keep them going through the night. Without the community involvement and the commitment of sponsors like Friendly Human, the 48in48 event (and the food) would not have been possible.
