Follow on Google News | ASA Launches New Advanced Gems & Jewelry Appraisal Development and Report Writing CourseDesigned for practicing gems and jewelry appraisers or those who intend to pursue a career in the profession, the course includes an advanced curriculum that covers topics such as analyzing comparable sales results and writing a convincing argument supporting the value conclusion, and provides students with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and confidence required to complete challenging assignments such as appraising for estate tax, equitable distribution or insurance loss claim. “Students will directly benefit by gaining a better understanding of how to author narrative appraisal report writing consistent with USPAP and ASA report writing requirements” Instruction for the upcoming course will be provided Mark T. Mr. Cartwright began cutting gemstones as a hobby in 1965 and starting making jewelry in 1973. He was the owner of Texas based fine jewelry design studio until 1995. He then became the designer for a local fine jewelry store in Fayetteville, AR where he worked until founding The Gem Lab – I.C.G.A. Mark has been appraising fine jewelry since 1983 and earned his Gemologist diploma from the GIA in 1985. In addition to holding the Accredited Senior Appraiser and Master Gemologist Appraiser credentials from ASA, he also is an Independent Certified Gemologist Appraiser of the American Gem Society, a Certified Senior Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, an Advanced Personal Property Appraiser of the Jewelers Education Foundation and a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America. Ms. Nash’s career in the jewelry profession began in the 1980’s when she traveled to California to complete studies at GIA where she was subsequently hired as an instructor. In 1998 she founded her appraisal practice and a jewelry manufacturing school and gemological laboratory in Colorado Springs. Ms. Nash is an Accredited Senior Appraiser and Master Gemologist Appraiser as well as a contributing author to Professional Jeweler Magazine, MJSA Journal (Manufacturing Jewelers and Suppliers of America, formerly AJM Magazine) and JCK (Jewelers Circular Keystone).
