PRLog -- I am writing the Republican party as a lifelong Republican and conservative. I do not write this letter to you for any disdain of or dislike for the man we know as Ted Cruz. A man who was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father born , "Rafael Edward Cruz" in 1970. I am completely in shock to find that senator Ted Cruz is in the same exact boat that conservatives found treasonous of the current president Barack H. Obama who was demonized for years as a man who was said to have been born in Kenya to an American mother and a foreign national as a father. The birther movement claimed because both of Obama's parents were not American citizens and the fact they thought he was born in Kenya and not in the United States this disqualified him to be eligible to be president of the great United States of America because he was not a natural born citizen. So many Republicans tried their very best to see Obama thrown out of office most notably, Donald J. Trump. Maybe this is why Cruz does not disturb Trump and stays quiet as he rants daily and threatens the demise of the Republican party. Trump threatens daily that he will leave and run 3rd party, a threat directly to the heart of the party he says he loves so dearly. This party has been taken hostage by Donald Trump and because of that the party is willing to overlook the fact that Ted Cruz is NOT eligible to be the president as he is not a natural born citizen of the United States of America. He is guilty of the crime his base accused Obama of because his base is made up of the same birthers that tried to debunk Obama as a citizen. The facts are that Cruz is guilty of the same circumstance. His mother is American, his father is foreign national , Cuban to be exact and he was born in Canada. Unlike Obama it is a fact that he was born outside the United States. So how is it ok for Cruz and not Obama? Is it the fact that Canada is so close to the United States? If it were Mexico or Saudi Arabia was where he was born or if his father was from Pakistan would we still turn a blind eye? The facts are that in America only one thing makes us equal and that is the law. Whether rich or poor we all are subjects to the same set of statutes and we must all be held to account indiscriminately. If Ted Cruz is to be held to the same bar that Obama was than he is not eligible to run for the highest office in the land, he was not born here or on an American military base. He was not born of two American citizens. By these facts he is not a natural born citizen and if you believe that the Democrats will not show us the same treatment we presented to their nominee with the same scrutiny and disdain than you are sorely mistaken. If Cruz becomes the nominee and if he wins the general election than we will see a repeat of Gore v Bush. The supreme court will again chose the president of the United States except this time we very well may lose. Ted Cruz is a good man and a good senator but his run for president is reckless and selfish. For the sake of the party and the country he must stand aside.
