Sunshine STEM Academy student Varun Gadi receives 1st place at National Chess Championship

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Dec. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Sunshine STEM Academy http://sunshinestem.academy 1^st grade student, Varun Gadi has received 1^st Place at the National Chess Championship in First Grade Category which was held in Orlando on December 4-6, 2015. Varun was placed 28^th place at the US Chess National Competition in K-1 category last year.

The K-12 Grade US Chess Nationals in Orlando was held with the record breaking attendance, with 1725 players pre-registered for the Main Event, the highest total since 2003. US Chess Director of Events Francisco Guadalupe told US Chess, “We had to make some adjustments to the floor plans because of the great attendance, a good “problem” to have!
