Follow on Google News | Announcing The Release Of Continental Hair’s Short Doc: Kea Can DanceBy: Continental Hair KEA CAN DANCE is a breathtaking story of Kea, a teenage girl born with Alopecia Totalis but dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Kea is taken on a trip of lifetime by Michael Suba, President of Continental Hair to Bologna Italy where she is finally fitted with the perfect hair and doesn’t have to sacrifice her dreams of dancing. Directed and edited by James Burke, and produced by Michael Suba, Kea Can Dance is a heart-warming journey tracing the intersecting lives of Kea, and Michael -a former cancer survivor himself who made it his mission to search the world for the best and most innovative hair solutions for his clients. Taking over the reigns of Continental Hair (Canada’s oldest and longest serving wig salon) from his parents Peter and Emma Suba almost 20 years ago after seeing the impact first-hand that something as simple as a wig could have on the life of a woman undergoing chemo treatments, the doc also provides an inside look into how Michael the hockey player and political junkie, came to run his parents salon, the history of Continental Hair and its Wigs for Kids program, where donated ponytails are reconstructed into beautiful wigs. “I see people struggling with Alopecia every day and so few individuals know about it and how debilitating it is” says Michael, “so it was important to show people what it is, what it does and what can be done about it” The documentary is in memoriam of Michael’s mother, Emma Suba, who sadly passed away recently. Emma and her husband were the founders of Continental Hair and also the inventers of the Postiche, a hair replacement unit that is light, beautiful and easy to wear.
