Nsight Telservices Selects BEC Technologies’ Ultimum® Series Residential Gateways for Advanced xDSL and FTTH Services

PLANO, Texas - Dec. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- BEC Technologies, a leading provider of advanced broadband CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) solutions, today announced it has begun commercial shipments of the Ultimum® 8920AC Advanced Residential Gateway to Nsight Telservices, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Nsight Telservices offers high-speed internet, phone, and IPTV services to subscribers in several northeast Wisconsin communities.

Nsight has used BEC Technologies' CPEs since 2007, and wanted to continue using the BEC products for this next phase of high-speed internet build outs. They have been actively upgrading many subscribers from copper-based ADSL2+, VDSL2, and xDSL Bonded technologies to high speed Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployments. Nsight leverages the flexibility of BEC to deliver its All-Out Internet product, an innovative one-tier Internet model that delivers the fastest service available to each and every customer for a standard price.

Key Highlights:

· The Ultimum® 8920AC residential gateway provides the latest wireless technology, 802.11AC, to enable subscribers to access the internet from their handheld devices, laptops, and gaming consoles at the fastest speed possible, as much as 1600 megabits per second, as well as take advantage of the 5mhz frequency band which newer devices support.

· The 8920AC also integrates a multiple WAN interface supporting ADSL2+/VDSL2/Bonded xDSL and a second 10/100/1000 Ethernet WAN interface which can be used for broadband connectivity directly to an ONT in Fiber-to-the-Home deployments and offers service providers with flexible, scalable deployment options optimized to both reduce costs and provide the longest possible lifespan for the investment.

· Features BEC’s Video Quality Prioritization (VQP) technology, an enhancement to standard QoS that prioritizes delay sensitive traffic such as video and voice with additional bandwidth management control to optimize the networks resource allocation. IPTV and other streaming content passes through the router at lightning speed, even when there is heavy internet traffic. The speed of different types of outgoing data passing through the gateway is also controlled to ensure that users do not saturate bandwidth with their browsing activities.

· The NAT default firewall has advanced anti-hacker pattern-filtering protection features that automatically detect and block Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. In addition, Packet Filtering provides high-level security for access control. Built with Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), the router enables users to determine whether or not a data packet is allowed to pass through the firewall to the private LAN.
