The Dream Builders Project hosts Holiday Toy Drive for 120 underprivileged kids

Students from Cesar E. Chavez Elementary School in Bell Gardens will receive brand new toys for the holidays

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- The Dream Builders Project, a Los Angeles non profit, will be donating toys to 120 underprivileged children at Cesar E. Chavez Elementary School in Bell Gardens on Wednesday, December 9th. Partnering for the second time with after school program, After-School All-Stars, over 120 children from low-income families will be given brand new toys in an effort to share the excitement, love, and nature of giving that is associated with the holiday season.

Not just a toy drive, The Dream Builders Project is bringing the essence of the holidays to Bell Gardens, including Santa, snow, Christmas carolers, games and activities. Approximately 20 of The Dream Builders Project’s volunteers will also dress up as reindeer and Santa’s little helpers.

“The whole holiday season, from Thanksgiving to the New Year, is all about giving and sharing good times and great memories with family, friends and your community,” says Mayer Dahan, founder of The Dream Builders Project. “The Dream Builders Project believes it is important for every child to enjoy the magic of the holidays, and our inaugural Toy Drive will be a party and an experience that these kids will never forget.”

28.5% of California’s poorest children live in Los Angeles. The Dream Builders Project asked the community to deliver new, unwrapped toys to their headquarters in Hancock Park, or donate just $10 through online platforms such as GiveGab, and a volunteer would purchase a toy on their behalf. The community has been incredibly supportive of this campaign, donating over $300 and 250 new toys.
