DEERFIELD, Illinois– The Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Board of Directors is accepting applications for the Executive Director position of their US-based non-profit organization. Founded in 1993, the ACCT serves the international challenge course, zip line, and aerial adventure park community by publishing standards, providing forums for education and professional development, and advocating for the challenge course and adventure industry.

“We have seen unprecedented growth in this industry over the past five years,” said Michelle Hepler, ACCT Board of Directors Member. “We need to fill the Executive Director position with a qualified, growth-minded professional who can collaborate with everyone from government-based regulatory bodies, to professionals in the summer camp industry.  The scope of the challenge course and zip line community is significant, and the person who fills this position will need to be able to keep track of a lot of moving parts.”

Beginning as a small trade organization for challenge course builders, ACCT has evolved into the largest representative group for the industry with membership exceeding 2600 people. With comprehensive standards for many facets of the field, from designing, installing, and operating a challenge course or zip line, to certification programs for practitioners and inspectors, to a program currently in development that is planned to accredit courses meeting the ACCT Operation Standard, the ACCT has provided an impressive amount of leadership in a relatively new, but booming industry.

“It’s an exciting and pivotal time for us as a professional community,” says Hepler.  “We have identified where we need to go, and we’re committed to finding the right person to help lead our association there.”

The ACCT Board of Directors has established Executive Director Search Task Force to lead a process that will identify the most qualified candidate to fill this position. The task force is made up of four Board Members, one Board Emeritus Member, and one additional member.

Interested parties can view the full position description and find application requirements on the ACCT website: www.acctinfo.org. For more information, please contact Michelle Hepler at michelle.hepler@acctinfo.org
