Clean Water for Uganda Project to Walk for Well Restoration on Saturday, December 12th

HOUSTON - Dec. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- The Clean Water for Uganda Project, a Houston based nonprofit organization dedicated to the mission of “addressing Uganda’s water insecurities by restoring water sources, and fostering community participation in water policy,” will host its first-ever 5K Walk on Saturday, December 12th at Joseph A. Fiorenza Park --Phase II (13551 Westpark Drive, Houston, TX 77082). Check-in for the walk begins at 8:00 AM, and the walk will officially kick off at 9:00AM. The official theme for this year’s walk is “A Walk in Their Shoes”.

The purpose of the 5K walk is to raise awareness for the organization’s fourth on-ground well restoration project (currently scheduled for January 2016), and to stand in solidarity with families and communities in Uganda where women and children walk an average of five miles per day while carrying about 35 to 40 pound containers to fetch water. The community fundraiser walk will consist of a designated course for participants to follow, and will conclude with a special victory celebration.

Official registration for the walk is now available online at To volunteer or for sponsorship information, please contact us directly at (281) 965-7887 or (832) 510-4489.
