DETROIT - Dec. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- On Friday, December 11, 2015, Stephen Tulloch and teammates will team up with The Rainbow Connection to bring the Southeast Michigan business community together for a special evening, the 7th Annual Athletes Adopting Families for the Holidays event at Bistro 82 (401 S. Lafayette Ave., Royal Oak, MI) from 7-11pm. Tulloch and teammates have collected wish lists from families in need that have been affected by cancer and will be fulfilling each list for Christmas this year.

“We have been hosting this event for years now and each year it gets better and bigger than the last,” said Tulloch. “This year, we have partnered with the Rainbow Connection that helps us locate the families in need and gets the foundation their wish lists. We have a great group of volunteers that head out to the stores almost daily and are buying the wish list items for these kids and families in need. This year, we asked companies to adopt a family by raising money in their offices, stores and throughout the month and it’s gone over well. I’m looking forward to seeing how many people we will be able to help this Christmas.”

“This is the second event we are partnering with Stephen on this year and we love working with him and his team,” says Ingrid Todt, Wish Director of the Rainbow Connection. “Stephen and his team have really stepped up to help our kids and make a big difference for them this holiday season.”

Operation 55 was launched in 2011 when Tulloch signed with the Detroit Lions. The purpose of the program is to help as many people as possible and give children throughout the Metro Detroit area opportunities to come to Detroit Lions home games to experience a game day with Tulloch! Stephen has taken over 3000 kids from various organizations throughout Detroit, including The Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, Big Family and more, to home Detroit Lions games since he became a Detroit Lion. Tulloch also partnered with the Covenant House of Michigan, providing 55 kids with free dental services, and has continually adopted families in Detroit for the holidays, providing them with food, clothing and toys every year.

Over the past two years, Tulloch also took on the task of adopting 55 schools in Detroit, also fulfilling their wish lists of needs including books, school supplies, computers, tablets, recess equipment and more. The 55-school project began in October and will continue to help schools until Tulloch reaches his commitment of helping all 55 schools across the area.

The event will include food, open premium bar, music, great company and many great surprises throughout the evening. There will be a live and silent auction with an added event feature, the Stephen Tulloch Giving Tree, where attendees can adopt children and receive a special ornament as a token of appreciation from the Stephen Tulloch Foundation.

Tickets to attend the event are $155. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.Tulloch55.com.
