Mandaue Childrens Choir Sings ‘Pasko sa AMOA’

CEBU CITY, Philippines - Nov. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- The video has had almost 70,000 views on youtube.com.   Viewers have messaged to request the lyrics of the Cebuano piece, with many expressing appreciation for the depth of feelings the song evokes.

The song is written and produced by multi-awarded songwriter and playwright Jude Gitamondoc and arranged by Jad Batug and Anjelo Calinawan.  Maestro Dennis Sugarol, who has led the Mandaue Children and Youth Chorus to win numerous accolades, conducts.  The choral arrangement is provided by Melvin Corpin.

Cher Estelle Lozada  sings parts of the piece solo in a heart-rending salute to the components of the simple, but hugely family-oriented celebration, namely, “ang biko ni Nanay,” and “ang lechon ni Tatay.”

The song evokes a longing to escape the hustle and bustle of the city into the more tranquil and happy confines of home.

The lyrics hit home.  “Proud ko nga taga-Cebu,” writes Danzkie Geonzon on the page’s comments section.  Holybe Bermudez asks, “add nmn ng lyrics . . . gustong-gusto kasi nmn yung song nyo.”
