Artist, Catherine Rose Chiara, Places Third in Art Contest on Fine Art America

MANDEVILLE, La. - Nov. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Catherine Rose Chiara is an artist and designer in Louisiana. She recently entered a contest on Fine Art America where she has been a member since 2013. For most of her career Catherine has sold only originals. Recently she became interested in breaking into the licensing arena and began creating consumer friendly art as opposed to fine art. What Catherine likes about the site is the ability to upload everything she creates to share with everyone, but likes that the site makes it difficult for someone to copy an image and use it elsewhere. This makes it possible for Catherine to continually produce artwork and upload it to the site. This way art directors can view her diverse and productive capabilities.

In 2012 Catherine began painting a series, Paintings With Flowers, and was able to create about forty-five 24 inch x 36 inch oil paintings before relocating from Cincinnati, Ohio to Mandeville, Louisiana. Space became an issue and limited her ability to continue to produce the series. She continues to create using other mediums and more flexible surfaces and creates all the time.

The painting of a poinsettia was one of the last paintings in the series. She was working mostly from real life at the time and was given poinsettias as a gift from her neighbors. It was winter time and all the gardens were empty.
