Zampell Receives the ABC Eagle Award for Scaffolding the USS Constitution

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - Nov. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- – ZAMPELL COMPANIES – On November 18, 2015, the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Massachusetts Chapter (ABC) recognized Zampell as the winner of the Eagle Award for Excellence in Construction.  The award specifically recognized the excellent and innovated work that Zampell completed by scaffolding the USS Constitution in dry dock in Charlestown, MA.

The official selection notice stated, “This outstanding achievement is a testament to your firm’s superior capabilities.  Moreover, your award-winning work is also a notable achievement for the merit shop construction industry.  In drawing attention to fine projects such as yours, the image of the merit shop and our entire industry will certainly be enhanced.”

The award was presented at last night’s event at the Westin Waltham Boston Hotel, featuring a variety of project award winners and acknowledgement of 26 past ABC Chairmen by inducting them as ABC Legends.

The ABC Excellence in Construction is awarded yearly to 12 outstanding Merit Shop contractors. The awards are given to outstanding workmanship on a specific project. In honor of this important occasion, Susan Wornick, former Channel 5 news anchor and member of the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame was Emcee for the event this year.

The USS Constitution Dry Dock Scaffold Project is a historic restoration undertaken at the Charlestown Navy Yard. The $12 - $15 Million project is slated to take nearly 3 years. The scaffolding provided and installed by Zampell to access the historic vessel will ensure safe access to the work being performed by Navy craftsmen. Zampell proudly accepted the Eagle Award for their outstanding work on this project.
