Award Winning Kids Game Designer Launches New Game App in Brooklyn

NEW YORK - Nov. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- On Saturday, November 21, 2015, the game designer of Doc McStuffins Time for Your Checkup Mobile Game Matt Obst, premieres his newest game- Double Dutch Jump. From 12pm-2pm at the John Wesley United Methodist Church 260 Quincy St, Brooklyn, NY 11216 children and adults of all ages are invited to the official release party to check out the game that will bring Double Dutch back to its roots and into the digital age.

“Double Dutch Jump represents the history, style and culture of Central Brooklyn. Double Dutch Deedee is the joy and spirit of Brooklyn, as she breaks down her Double Dutch moves with attitude and skill, while mixing the soundtrack as she goes," says Matt Obst. “It fills me with joy to watch players just light up while playing this game where our hero is a beautiful little girl of color presenting a positive image for the world to see.”

In attendance at the launch will be Champion Double Dutch team Jammin’ Jumpers of Bed Stuy featuring credited, noted and World Champion Double Dutch Coach Ruth Payne and jumping sensations Melissa Quayle and Double Dutch Empire.

The event will also feature a special jump performance by NYPD officers of the 79^th Precinct.

DJ Reborn will provide music including a preview of the game sound track.

Recognizing the need for fitness alternatives, Matt Obst will dedicate proceeds from an upcoming character sold in the game  towards hosting Double Dutch programs in local community centers and schools, beginning at John Welsey United Methodist Church with Coach Ruth Payne who has been coaching Double Dutch in Bed-Stuy since 1988.

“Although Double Dutch is a street sport that originated in NYC, many schools and community centers do not offer this simple and inexpensive outlet for exercise and fun,” says Obst.
