PRLog -- This type of photography is called ‘
urbex’. The photographers are, by definition, curious about unknown and forgotten places which are often dangerous and forbidden. The mixture of photography and excitement is Wigo’s motive. He came in contact with other
urbex photographers and at meetings information was exchanged. The photographers from this period were pioneers and kept the scene
underground as much as possible. A well-known but important rule that was enforced by this hard core group of photographers is
take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. Locations received
urbex names, sometimes with a small reference, sometimes complete nonsense. The person who could find a new location had the honour to invent a name. Beautiful and sensitive locations are kept secret. They will only be shared with a selective group. It has become more difficult for the masses to visit the beautiful places and therefore the location will remain unaffected.
