PHILADELPHIA - Nov. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Over 75 restaurants in 24 of Philadelphia’s top neighborhoods will offer discounted small bites and make a donation to three local charities during their greatest time of need. Philly2Night.com and UpcomingEvents.com, with support from Tito’s Handmade Vodka, present Food Fest 2015, a city-wide Philadelphia restaurant crawl & food drive on Saturday, November 21, 2015, from Noon to 8:00pm. Ticket holders are invited to visit new restaurants around town, or stop by long-time favorites, while savoring discounted small-bite foods and enjoying drink specials. Tickets are free but participants can make an extra difference by purchasing a special $10 donation option. All guests are strongly encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation to drop at 25 drop-off sites. Charity beneficiaries for this year include Philabundance, The Food Trust and Alex’s Lemonade Stand. For more information and for tickets, visit http://www.foodfest.org.

“Through Food Fest, we challenge Philly to help us make the world a better place,” said Philly2Night.com President Ray Sheehan. “Tito’s Handmade Vodka has agreed to match every dollar donated up to $10,000, leading up to Food Fest. Together we can do great things to strike out hunger in the City of Brotherly Love. Additionally, Tito's has also challenged all participating restaurants and will match their philanthropic efforts up to an additional $5,000. We strongly believe that when a community works together they can achieve great things.”

Food Fest is FREE to participate for both consumers and restaurants. There are two ticket options – one that is free and another that is a donation to charity. With each donation, organizers will be mailing out a coupon book good for discounts at multiple Philadelphia area restaurants and businesses.

On the day of the event, each neighborhood will have a designated check in location. Ticket holders need to check-in just once at their starting neighborhood. Once they check in, they can hit as many neighborhoods and restaurants as they’d like. In each neighborhood, donations of non-perishable food items can be made at the check-in location. Before heading out for the day, ticket holders should grab an updated downloadable pocket map of neighborhoods and restaurants at http://www.foodfest.org.

The goal for this first-year event is to raise $25,000 and bring awareness to food related charities in our great city. Additionally, there will be food drop off locations in 25 different neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia where you can bring canned goods just before Thanksgiving.

A portion of proceeds from Food Fest 2015 will benefit three local charities, including Philabundance, The Food Trust, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

Philabundance was created in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Philabundance has taken a stronghold of the hunger issue in the Delaware Valley, implementing both emergency relief and also long-term strategies to strengthen the hunger safety net.

The Food Trust's mission is to ensure that everyone has access to affordable, nutritious food and information to make healthy decisions.

Alex's Lemonade Stand’s mission is to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures.

Tickets for Food Fest are FREE with an optional cash or food donation to contribute to the cause.
