ELIZABETH, N.J. - Nov. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- The Port of Elizabeth will provide the backdrop for NAIOP New Jersey’s annual seminar, “Transportation & Logistics Update.” The event is slated for Friday, December 4, at the NYSA Training Center in Elizabeth. Registration and networking will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the program at 8:30 a.m.

Transportation and logistics remain key topics of discussion on New Jersey’s economic and real estate landscape. Business and industry rely heavily on the transportation infrastructure to move goods and people, and the Garden State’s prosperity and competitiveness are at stake.

What’s new, and how are the state’s ongoing transportation questions being addressed? This important program will take a close look at everything from the latest on major transportation network projects, to port performance improvements and the impact of e-commerce on the last mile traveled. Logistics professionals will share their perspectives on the latest trends in the global supply chain, automation and productivity, e-commerce and omni-channel retailing, and what these challenges and opportunities mean for the commercial real estate industry.

Confirmed speakers include Ronnie Hakim, executive director of NJ Transit; Peter Waldt, senior director of Commercial Planning and Development for Amtrak; Huascar Cruz, senior Director Import Export of Kate Spade & Co.;  Bethann Rooney, assistant Director-Port Performance Initiatives, Port Authority of NY/NJ; John Atkins, president of Global Container Terminals; and Anne Strauss-Wieder of A. Strauss-Wieder Inc.

The program will offer two Continuing Education Credits for New Jersey Licensed Brokers; two CLEs are pending for attorneys. To register, or for more information, contact NAIOP New Jersey, the commercial real estate development association, at (732) 729-9900, or visit www.naiopnj.org.
