National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week
is held each year the week before Thanksgiving.  This is a time for us all to start to think about what we are thankful for, a perfect time to share our compassion with our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness, and work toward a world where no one has to experience Hunger and Homelessness.  #NHHAW offers the chance to contribute to a national social movement.  For this year’s #NHHAW the focus will be on the laws passed by local governments around the nation which prevent people experiencing homelessness from doing life-sustaining activities.

Observed from November 14 – 22, 2015, the week boasts a series of national events aiming to educate and bring awareness to the epidemic of Hunger and Homelessness.  Together, Hunger and Homelessness affects more than 600,000 U.S. citizens each year, and can be a life threatening experience.

In San Antonio SAMMinistries is leading the local effort to bring awareness and advocacy, support and additional resources together with the ultimate goal of overcoming and preventing homelessness.
