LONDON - Nov. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- With an escalation in the frequency, severity and impact of cyber attacks; operators are now heavily investing in establishing the most comprehensive security systems for their assets and digital infrastructures with spending set to reach $1.87bn by 2018. Oil and gas companies are becoming more adept at prevention and detection methods with innovation also on the rise. This is indicated in a recent report released by PwC, which has highlighted a 38% increase in detected information security incidents and a 24% boost in security budgets in 2015.

Against this backdrop, SMi's 5th annual Oil and Gas Cyber Security conference will evaluate current cyber security measures with keynote presentations and case studies from DECC, SSE, National Grid, British Gas and more. The two-day programme will build on the success of the 2014 event and discuss recent efforts to bolster protection of highly valuable intellectual property and commercially sensitive information.
