Ingleside Homes Announces Grant Award from TD Charitable Foundation for Staff Training

WILMINGTON, Del. - Nov. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- On September 28^th, Larry Cessna, President and CEO of Ingleside Homes, Inc., received notice that TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank^® had awarded the organization a grant in the amount of $875 for purposes of educating staff members.

Ingleside Homes Inc. is a non-profit agency that provides senior living options and social services to over 250 residents housed within independent retirement apartments and assisted living facilities. One of the essential services offered to the seniors is a full-service dining room that provides breakfast, lunch and dinner daily to over 200 residents. Effective food handling is a critical component of health, especially for seniors.

“’ServSafe Training’ is an essential component in all food-service facilities,” said Barbara Flowers, Director of Dining Services for Ingleside Homes.  “This course teaches the importance of safe food handling in all aspects from receiving, storing, preparing, cooking, holding and serving of foods. From purveyor deliveries to the plate being consumed by our residents, time and temperature is critical and monitored; this course will provide our team with the knowledge that is necessary for a safe food-service operation.”

The grant from TD Charitable Foundation is a welcomed addition to the generous support from many donors. “Ingleside Homes is committed to providing ongoing training for staff to enhance their internal promotion opportunities and overall career development,” stated Laura Oliver, Director of Human Resources for Ingleside Homes. “As a non-profit, it can be very difficult in this era of cost constraints to find adequate funding for these types of programs, so we are thrilled to be partnering with TD Charitable Foundation and appreciate their generosity in helping us to be able to benefit both our staff and consequently, the residents they serve.”
