A Diagnosis of Global Health Trends”Dr. Peterson directs the delivery of more than $500 million in medical aid and relief supplies to more than 90 countries each year. She oversees the organization’ Peterson has deep experience in domestic and global health: policy, program administration and disaster response. As Assistant Administrator, Dr. Peterson oversaw of all of USAID’s programs in maternal and child health, AIDS, family planning, neglected tropical diseases and health systems. She has worked as a consultant for the CDC and the WHO, was the Vice Dean of Public Health for the Ponce School of Medicine & Health Services in Puerto Rico, a research professor at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She spent nearly six years in Sub-Saharan Africa working on community development, public health training and AIDS-prevention programs. Dr. Peterson earned her medical degree from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn. She completed her MPH and preventive medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta. The cost for admission to the event is $20 per person for the general public and is free for 2015-2016 Forum and AR Series members, faculty and students.
