Former Finance Girls Team Up to Launch New Fashion Label, Bowery & Fourth, on Kickstarter

COPENHAGEN, Denmark - Nov. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Following the lifestyle brand’s establishment in 2014, Bowery & Fourth is seeking to fill the void that is fashion for business women, while creating an emerging brand that could help reshape female corporate identity. The creative director of the brand, Sarah Louise Hansen, is a former finance girl who faced these challenges first hand. Now, the brand is launching the fashion crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter in an effort to reach to two major milestones for their label–to launch their first official collection named ‘Urban Gentlewoman’ and to launch the label's very own online store.

The collection of simplistic designs and pieces consist of business suits for women, trousers, skirts, and blouses perfectly tailored with an emphasis on the beauty. Up until now, the Urban Gentlewoman collection has been made-to-measure only.

“It has been time-consuming, but extremely valuable part of the process as it has enabled us to gain a better understanding of our clients,” Bowery & Fourth’s Co-Founder and Creative Director, Sarah Louise Hansen. She adds, “Now, we are ready to go into ready-to-wear and expand the collection and consumer reach–all we need is help from our backers.”

The brand is looking to raise $14,820 goal (kr100,000 DKK) by the campaigns December 11th deadline. Currently, the campaign has reached over $5,000 with support from backers around the world. Pledge options start at just $1 with $15 pledge options and higher featuring special perks that include, a copy of the book titled “Perfect Resting Bitch Face” written by Hansen herself or options for select pieces from the Bowery & Fourth collection.

When asked what inspired the designs, Hansen noted that, “A lot of my inspiration from the collection comes from Phoebe Philo (creative director of French fashion house Céline). Her sense of minimalism is impeccable and she really understands how to convey a very feminine expression with a bare minimum.”

While Bowery & Fourth’s designs are still structured and fitted for the boardroom, the collection clearly shows the balance of professional and femininity that the founders believe young women in business have been waiting for.
