Mahwah Professional Organizer Jean Marie Herron of POSSE Partners Celebrates 10 Years in Business

MAHWAH, N.J. - Nov. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Mahwah entrepreneur, Jean Marie Herron, founder and principal of POSSE Partners, LLC (http://www.possepartnersllc.com), is celebrating 10 years in business in November. At her 10-year anniversary mark, Herron looks back at the nearly 100 clients’ homes she has helped organize, strategize and streamline since starting her professional organizing business in 2005. POSSE Partners specializes in helping women in northern New Jersey who are overwhelmed with the clutter and paper that’s accumulated in their homes, as well as those who are preparing their homes for sale or to downsize in place. The acronym POSSE comes from the first five words of the company’s tag line: “Professional Organizing Solutions Serving Every Woman Who Wants to Sell or Dwell.”

Herron consults with clients one on one, and works with them to teach them simple organizing skills for any space in the home, as well as paper and time management techniques. She also presents to public audiences and private groups with her Clutter Corrals™, workshops and presentations for homeowners as well as real estate professionals.

“Things have certainly come much farther than I ever imagined, when I began thinking about doing this 10 years ago,” said Herron. “What began as an idea for something I could do when my children were preschoolers, has become a multi-faceted organizing service I’m so very proud of.”

To mark the occasion of POSSE Partners’ tenth anniversary, Herron offers these organizing tips for homeowners:

1.    When You Think It, Ink It – As soon as you think of something you need to do, write it down in your planner or digital device. If you do not own a time management tool, Herron recommends wasting no time in purchasing and implementing one—whether mobile or paper. “None of us can remember all the tasks and ideas that stimulate our brains; we need a tool and a system to help keep us organized.”

2.    One In, One Out – In order to keep a home and its possessions balanced and uncluttered, Herron recommends her clients trade off incoming and outgoing items. “Every time you bring something new into your home, make a decision as to what will leave via the following categories: donate, sell, recycle, shred, or trash.”

3.    Under Two, Please Do – If it takes you less than two minutes to complete a necessary task then do it right away to avoid tasks piling up. Examples include rinsing the dishes and placing them into the dishwasher, calling the dentist to schedule an exam, shredding the junk mail on the kitchen counter, or paying a bill you keep thinking about.
