Follow on Google News | Nautilus Aviation Expands Into North West QueenslandNautilus Aviation is set to expand its helicopter services in North West Queensland, establishing a new base at Mt Isa by the end of November.
By: Nautilus Aviation Nautilus currently operates the largest fleet in North Queensland with 24 aircraft and bases in Townsville, Cairns, Weipa and Horn Island. Initially a Jetranger B206 will be stationed at Mt Isa but any of the company’s larger aircraft including the new custom built Airbus H125, EC130T2 and Bell 407, can also be utilised if required. The Jetranger will be used to undertake aerial work, ranging from surveys and sling operations to search and rescue, firefighting and mining support and emergency services. “Mt Isa presents a real opportunity for Nautilus Aviation and we are looking forward to working with all stakeholders as well as servicing new and existing clients from this base,” he said. Mr Finn said while Nautilus Aviation would initially focus on its commercial operations, there was also scope to offer tourism products in the future. “The door is certainly open for heli-camping tours, scenic flights and of course offering packages around one of the big events of the year – the Birdsville Races. “Nautilus Aviation is incredibly active in the tourism sector, and we know there is a lot interest for this type of outback adventure, particularly from the growing eastern markets,” he added.
