MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Nov. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Emterra Group, a Canadian leader in waste management services industry, has launched two new compressed natural gas (CNG) fuelling stations and fleets. The CNG fuelling stations are located in Victoria, British Columbia and Mississauga, Ontario.

Emterra now operates four CNG fuelling stations in Canada. The Mississauga location represents the largest CNG fuel station in Canada open to the public.

CNG Fuel Station Receives Industry Accolades

The Mississauga CNG fuel station’s grand opening was met with accolades from industry leaders. David Bradley, CEO of the Canadian Truck Alliance and the Ontario Trucking Association stated, “Never before in the trucking industry’s history is our member’s economic goals been as aligned with society’s goals in terms of the environment, particularly with greenhouse gas emissions, than today. There are going to be a number of challenges: infrastructure, getting people used to new ideas, pricing, all of those sorts of things. But I think today is really good example of what it’s going to take. It’s going to take partnerships.”

Emterra Group (http://www.emterra.ca/) has partnered with GAIN Clean Fuel (http://www.usgain.com/) to help fleets beyond its own convert to clean burning CNG fuel. Emterra has extended access to the third party public CNG station in Mississauga to service their fleets.

Less Pollution and Mitigating Waste for Sustainable Communities

It is this contribution to community and the natural environment that sets Emterra Group apart. Expanding usage of the CNG fuelling station contributes to healthier, cleaner communities. It is also consistent with Emterra’s view that we can one day live in a world of “zero waste”. A mantra it holds and works towards in its waste management operations focusing on diverting as much waste from landfill as possible throughout the communities it serves.

With CNG trucks operating greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by up to 20% plus noise pollution from CNG vehicles approximately 90% less than diesel counterparts.

With the benefits clear, Emterra plans to power 25% of its fleet utilizing CNG fuel by the end of 2015.  This will make Emterra Group one of the largest operators of CNG vehicles in Canada.
