QUINCY, Mass. - Nov. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- In response to findings of its Regional Development Plan, the South Shore Chamber of Commerce (www.southshorechamber.org) recently held an “Innovation Showcase,” a reinvention of the business exposition framework that allowed for more focus on the uniqueness of each participating organization on the South Shore.  The Innovation Showcase took place on Thursday, October 22, at the Boston Marriott Quincy.  Over 61 companies from around the South Shore exhibited at the event, with many more sponsoring and attending.

At the Innovation Showcase, which marked the 30th year the Chamber has hosted such an exhibition, attendees, exhibitors and sponsors were asked to refrain from any sales pitches in favor of education.  Instead, thought leaders from exhibiting companies promoted their best kept secrets that have led to innovation, differentiation and best practices for their companies.

Based on this information, exhibitors were grouped throughout the showroom into one of five Pillars of Excellence:  Community Impact, Power of Partnerships, Work/Life Integration, Customer Experience, and Efficiency @ Work, plus an Innovation Row that allowed start-ups and entrepreneurs to showcase their thought leadership, differentiation and best practices as well. Innovators were sponsored into the show by one of four sponsoring companies called “Angel Investor Sponsors.”

As part of its leadership role in improving the quality of life on the South Shore by focusing on making the region the best place to live, work, and play, the chamber used the Innovation Showcase as an opportunity to call out the best and brightest on the South Shore and allow them an opportunity to highlight lesser-known characteristics.

“The event and the ideas presented at the showcase were brilliant. Innovation Showcase showcased priorities from our Regional Development Plan, including helping existing businesses grow and new businesses to succeed and thrive here,” said CEO and President Peter Forman.

“The Innovation Showcase offered show participants new ways to think about companies they’ve known a long time and new reasons for them to think about companies they may not know as well. These just may mean all the difference in a buying decision down the road!” said Laurel Egan Kenny, COO of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.
