More than 600 people attend the iPropser Financial Workshop

Panelists and experts inform and empower financial series attendees about the importance of effectively maintaining personal finances

LITHONIA, Ga. - Nov. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- More than 600 people gained knowledge about the importance of building wealth, what it takes to become an entrepreneurs and investing back in to your community during the iPropser Financial Workshop held Saturday, October 31 at Salem Bible Church in Lithonia.

Mack Wilbourn, owner of Mack II, Inc., Marcus Drake,  Founder/Franchisor of CreekStone Academy Child Care and Cassius Butts, Regional Administrator for the Small Business Administration were among the panelists who addressed the iPropser audience.  Several entrepreneurs and financial experts conducted workshops on topics ranging from banking and investments to retirement and generational wealth building.

“It was great to see African Americans gather in the local church to focus on wealth form the vantage point of building and preserving instead of spending and consumption,” said Dr. Joseph L. Williams, Pastor of  SBC.

Funeral pre-planning and dealing with the Internal Revenue Service, topics that many people avoid, was also a part of Saturday’s sessions.   There were also classes  geared toward educating school-aged and college students on basic economics as well as paying for college.

“The main take away came from entrepreneur Rodney Sampson, author of Kingonomics, said, Dr. Williams. Sampson informed the audience that the three focal points of our community should be: "To Save, To Start (Business) and To Invest (in other small businesses).”

Saturday’s event was the culmination of a month financial series that included Wes Moss, host of Money Matters which airs on 95.5 FM and AM 750 WSB; Jacques Lee of Citizens Trust Bank and George Fraser of Fraser Net.

As a result of the positive impact of the iPropser Series, SBC plans to continue hosting similar events to help people open the doors to financial freedom.
