NAPLES, Fla. - Nov. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- TV producer, author and A&R Steven Jennings created a new music entertainment publication called Best Artist rep Magazine in early 2015. The magazine has now grown to a 100 page publication that is distributed online monthly. The magazine showcases the biographies, music links and contact information for aspiring artists seeking exposure to decision makers in the industry. But his year was full of as much tragedy as success. Steven’s 22 year old son Alexavier Chaz Jennings was murdered on February 18, 2015. This devastating blow almost made Jennings close his business for good. In a recent interview Jennings said, “My son was lost to senseless gun violence in the middle of me launching my magazine and preparing for my then artist to be released. It was so hard to keep it together, I almost had a nervous breakdown. But everyone was watching so I had to fight to keep it together. Plus I had a sick wife, so it was almost unbearable.”

During the summer of 2014, after months of back and forth, Steven got Royce Lovett signed to Motown Gospel, a major record label. After becoming Royce’s manager, Steven Jennings decided to create a new mechanism to assist artists of multiple music genres in getting record deals. He called the project, and the Rep stands for repertoire. In June of 2015, Steven and Royce parted ways because of philosophical and theological differences. Jennings believes that Royce Lovett and Motown Gospel utilized his untimely departure to unfairly change the narrative of Royce Lovett’s discovery story. “They only subvert their own credibility by creating false narratives about how Royce Lovett was discovered,” Said Jennings. “The truth is, he was collectively discovered by myself Steven Jennings on PTWWN TV’s program America’s Got Anointing and a former employee of Motown Gospel named Cameron was the judge. Furthermore, Motown verbally assured us we would receive credit if someone got signed. But this did not happen. This was a good old fashioned American dream story. But they went with a Royce Lovett did it on his own type of narrative. But regardless of what any lawyer of Mr. Lovett or Motown tells me to say or not to say, I still have a right to express myself and tell a true story in America. I was the driving force behind him getting signed, even when the label seemed uninterested in continuing,” remarked Jennings.

Best Artist Rep want’s to encourage up and coming musical artists to stay true to themselves and the people who help them to the top. Jennings said, “If you disregard the people who got you to the top, you will likely one day look around and find yourself back at the bottom.”
