BOCA RATON, Fla. - Oct. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The 2015 George Long Awards, named for the city’s first appointed mayor in 1924, honored people who have championed the tradition of bringing indelible visionary ideas and transformation to Boca Raton.

American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) was one of three recipients to be recognized at the Broken Sound Club on October 17th.  AACY is the champion for silent, hidden and deserving children and is headquartered in Boca Raton.  Its Caregiving Youth Project is the first U.S. comprehensive program to address the challenges faced by children who sacrifice their education, health, well-being and childhood to provide care for family members who are ill, injured, elderly or disabled.

About AACY: The American Association of Caregiving Youth (AACY) is a Florida based 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporations that began serving the greater Boca Raton community in 1998. AACY is the only organization of its kind in the United States for caregiving youth, a vulnerable and hidden population conservatively estimated to exceed 1.3 million kids ages 8-18 years. AACY utilizes resources on a local, regional, and national level to effectively promote and support the valuable role a caregiving youth has within the family, in an aging society and in our health delivery system.
