MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. - Oct. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Steve Richerson, aka “Steve Trash”, the award-winning performer who uses music, magic, and comedy to inspire people to reduce, reuse, and recycle, is set to dazzle kids in grades K-6 from Tampa area schools next week with his “Science of Ecology Show” at 10:30 a.m. on November 5 at the Straz Theatre.

The 60-minute show demonstrates how everything in nature is connected and that trash is a valuable natural resource. The kids will learn how the water cycle works, how the sun generates renewable energy and so much more. Richerson says this absolutely one-of-a -kind show will feature awesome green-themed illusions made from found object trash and is an excellent blend of eco-entertainment and eco-education.

“I love appearing at the Straz Theatre.” Richerson said. “Tampa educational school show audiences have always been absolutely terrific.  And this time around, I have some new, amazing, and fun, eco-mysteries in store for them!”

Richerson was green waaaay before green was cool. He actually lives in Frog Pond, Alabama (Yes, it’s a real place!) with his wife, Dianne, in a home that is earth-birmed (partially underground utilizing the temperature of the earth to regulate the temperature of the house.), is designed for thermal mass insulation, features many reduced energy consumption appliances, has a composting bathtub in the backyard and a 21 panel solar panel in the front yard.

Among his many accomplishments, he is the 2011 Environmental Educator of the Year Award Winner, a founding board member of Keep The Shoals Beautiful, a lifetime member of the Alabama Association for Environmental Education, a member of the Academy of Magical Arts, the North American Association for Environmental Education, and the National Recycling Coalition.
