The PCF Strike Out Pediatric Cancer Bowlathon is excited to announce that registration has commenced for its Eighth Annual PCF Bowlathon to be held Sunday, November 22nd, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year, we’ll take over a new location: Bowlmor Lanes Chelsea Piers at Pier 60 in Manhattan. 10,380 children in the USA under age 15 will be diagnosed with cancer in 2015. The good news is, up to 80% of these kids can now be cured. The Bowlathon, now rolling into its eighth successful year, supports the Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s work in eradicating childhood cancers by raising funds to support hospitals based around New York City and the US. All proceeds from the Bowlathon go directly to patient care and research, and provides seed money to finance new protocols and therapies to treat diseases that were once untreatable. Registration for the event costs $50, and includes a 60% donation to PCF, shoe rentals, pizza, refreshments, bowling, and an afternoon of fun. Bowlers may join existing teams or organize their own. Captains will receive a free T-shirt, promotional materials, and a chance to win prizes for creating the largest team or raising the most money. In addition to bowling, the event will feature the Give Hope Bake Sale, featuring tasty treats with all proceeds going to fund cancer research. Raffle tickets will be available for sale throughout the event, with prize draws occurring after bowling. Being honored for her contributions to the fight against Pediatric Cancer will be Miss New York 2015, Jamie Lynn Macchia, who will be present to cut the ribbon to mark the beginning of the fun! Eric’s motto, “Fifty States, One Goal,” highlights the previous years’ successes along with his hopes for the future. As a matriculating student at Emory University, Eric has brought the Bowlathon down to Atlanta for its first successful year, moving one step closer to spreading awareness across the country. Currently, Eric is searching for his successor to take over the day-to-day workings of organizing the New York event. However, even those who are not quite ready to take charge of the event, or of their own team, can still make a difference by registering to bowl and collecting sponsors and donations to start raising money for the cause. PCF Strike Out Pediatric Cancer Bowlathon is a charitable organization dedicated to raising money for pediatric cancer research.
