Mrs. McMinimy has crafted a tale of passion, intrigue and forgiveness. As mentioned above, Luke Merrick is one of the main characters and in the military. We asked Mrs. McMinimy, who normally writes paranormal romance, what the challenges were crafting this contemporary military romance.
"Starting Over was different and difficult for me for a few reasons. For starters, I have friends in the military, and from time to time, I see the difference war has caused in them. I really wanted to be sure not to misrepresent what they’ve gone through, which is why I wrote Merrick as I did." McMinimy explains. "I wasn’t prepared to try and tell the story of an injured (physically)
We were also excited to learn that Mrs. McMinimy will be donating all the proceed from the sales of her book, through November 15, 2015, to the Wounded Warrior Project. The book is being released under the Red Hot Authors Collection: Red Hot Heroes (http://redhotauthors.com/
"I tossed around the idea of donating to a charity," McMinimy revealed. "This release seemed as good as any, and I hoped at least a few of the other Red Hots would join me—and they did, thanks, ladies."
Authors Rene Folsom and Jodi Reford will also be donating their sales through November 15, 2015 to the Wounded Warrior Project. When asked why she chose the Wounded Warrior Project, McMinimy told us this, "I decided on The Wounded Warrior Project for a couple reasons. One, it’s a great charity, and two, it's one many recognized and I hoped that would help spur the sales, and thus the amount we were able to raise for our veterans."
Well, we for one hope that your release, and the release of all the Red Hot Heroes Books, is a successful one. Please take the time to review the books in question, and help raise money for our veterans.
