OKLAHOMA CITY - Oct. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Bullying affects nearly one in three schoolchildren in America and is a major factor in teen suicide with more than 30 suicide attempts in Oklahoma since 2013. The Allstar Nation Tour (http://www.allstarnationtour.com/), a free national anti-bullying concert assembly, aims to reduce teen suicide with its message to report, support, and defend against bullying.

“If we can reach just one student with our message we have made a difference,” said tour founder and manager Dillon Smith. “Our program positively impacts the lives of students in an energetic, memorable way.”

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Classen School of Advanced Studies, top 6 X-Factor USA finalist Drew Ryniewicz (http://www.drewofficial.com/), The Voice Season 6 contestant Branden Mendoza (https://twitter.com/MyOnlyEscape1?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor), Oklahomans Lauren Carnahan (http://www.laurencarnahan.com/) and Connor Scott Frank will perform and speak out against bullying. The Allstar Nation Tour features emerging recording artists who perform and speak out against bullying at middle and high schools across the country. The highly-engaging assembly is a free supplemental anti-bullying program. Artists sing Top 40 and original music to connect with students. Between songs, they speak out against bullying, share personal experiences, and discuss prevention methods. The tour returns to Oklahoma after appearances earlier this year.

Ryniewicz, 18, of Chino Valley, AZ. became America’s sweetheart in 2011 when she won over millions of fans with her innocent and playful personality during the debut season of X-Factor. She recently released a new single titled Ugly (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ugly-single/id1030593339), a song with personal meaning that draws the story out of her own personal experiences of having been cyber bullied.

Mendoza, 21, is the lead singer of Houston band “My Only Escape” and a bully survivor. The former standout baseball player competed on NBC’s The Voice Season 6 and recently recorded his latest single titled Sunrise (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/sunrise-single/id899196533). Other band members include drummer Daniel Rascoe and Spencer Fort on guitar.

Carnahan, 19, of Ardmore, OK was recently named Indie Music Channel’s 2014 “Best New Teen Artist of the Year”. She recently released a new single titled Life of the Party (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/life-of-the-party-single/id1023068620). Frank, 16, of Oklahoma City recently received "Best Male Teen Artist" and "Best Teen Pop Song" from the Indie Music Channel. His latest single, I Miss You (https://itunes.apple.com/gw/album/i-miss-you-single/id929613339), is available on iTunes.

Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year, according to the CDC. According to the 2013 Oklahoma Youth Risk Behavior Survey, statewide incident counts (http://www.ok.gov/sde/sites/ok.gov.sde/files/documents/files/Statewide%20Incident%20Counts%20for%20School%20Year%202012-2013.pdf) for school year 2012-2013 show there were 31 total student suicide attempts and 11 suicide completions in Oklahoma. Nearly 70 percent of students think schools respond poorly to bullying.

The Houston-based Allstar Nation Tour is a program of the National Anti-Bullying Project, a nonprofit that empowers students, teachers, and other school personnel to eliminate physical and emotional bullying by developing programs that provide education on the dangers and prevention of bullying.

The tour has exploded in popularity having performed about 100 assemblies for more than 100,000 students and faculty at about 100 schools in Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin, and more since 2014. It is also the only anti-bullying concert tour featuring talent from American Idol, The Voice, and X-Factor.
