“Pink Ladies” Donate Salon Takings to Breast Cancer Care

BOURNEMOUTH, U.K. - Oct. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- As part of Breast Cancer Care’s national fundraising campaign, ‘Big Pink’, which took place on the 16^th of October, popular Dorset hairdressers, Simone Thomas Salon, have donated an entire day’s takings to the cause. Getting into the spirit of the day, the Simone Thomas team dressed up as the ‘Pink Ladies’ from the classic musical ‘Grease’, donning fluorescent pink wigs and jackets to match, as they cut and styled their client’s hair; with all money going to Breast Cancer Care. Along with this, the salon sold pink cakes throughout the day to help raise further money for the cause.

This fundraising effort forms part of Simone Thomas Salon’s overall support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raising awareness throughout October. The salon, which is owned by UK leading hair loss expert, Simone Thomas, has a natural affinity with the cause as it shares it’s premises with Simone’s top non-surgical hair loss salon, Crowning Glory Hair, which aids those with hair loss; including many clients who suffer from cancer.

Simone Thomas has said:

“As the owner of the Simone Thomas Salon and Crowning Glory Hair, I am extremely passionate about supporting charities which aid the fight against cancer. It’s an honour to be able to provide a service that relieves some of the burden that fighting cancer brings.”

Around 55,000 people, including 350 men, are diagnosed with breast cancer each year -making it the UK’s most common form of cancer. 55,000 people equates to someone being diagnosed every 10 minutes. Through their fundraising efforts and donations, The Simone Thomas salon has raised over £550 for Breast Cancer Care, the only UK wide charity which provides care, information and support for those affected by breast cancer.

“It’s a pleasure to know that all the day’s takings from the salon have gone to help Breast Cancer Care. I would like to thank all my staff for their work and fundraising efforts.”
