BHUBANESWAR, India - Oct. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Bhubaneswar, India – October 27, 2015 – The Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) signed an MOU with Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS) to implement the DDU-GKY skill program in Odisha. BIPF has taken several concrete steps in the skill development of rural youth and women to improve their quality of life and step ahead for greater success.

The program focuses on the objectives to provide employment as well as financial empowerment to the people of rural areas. At Choudwar, Mr. Pravat Ranjan Biswal (MLA, Choudwar) inaugurated the first BIPF Skill Centre. Here in the centre, the girls will be provided with training for the trade of Sewing Machine Operators (SMO). For the very first year, a 170 number of girls from across Odisha will be given the placement-linked training for SMO.

The training includes two months of fully residential training and one month on-the-job training to groom the girls. BIPF has decided to select the students from the different marginalized communities spread across Odisha with the clear objective to enable rural youth with marketable skills for employment so that they engage in the organized sectors which ensure income generation. In addition, BIPF is soon going to open 2 more skill development centers for the rural youth to impart trainings for trade of welder, fitter and electricians.

With an enlightened motivation, BIPF has introduced many CSR initiatives for social upliftment of the deprived people living in the rural areas. Some of their projects involve infrastructure development, maternal and child healthcare, empowerment, clean sanitation and basic facilities, skill development and lots more.
