Follow on Google News | Opera Night in Washington, D.C.: Help Child War Refugees in UkraineDonbass: A Change for Childhood is holding a classical music charity concert. Olga Chernisheva, Jose Miguel Sacin and Anastassia Ivanova will perform arias and duets from operatic classics Verdi, Puccini, Catalani, Caccini, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. All proceeds will be used towards providing child refugees with vital items and aid. The program will include a live performance of the renowned operas, photo exhibition of Ukrainan child refugees, silent action, and complimentary champagne reception. Additional alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase with provided ID. The event is organized by Nina Borysova, originally from Odessa, Ukraine, and Alla Levin, originally from Donetsk, Ukraine. Donbass: A Change for Childhood is a humanitarian initiative with the goal of providing aid to children suffering in the Ukrainian military conflict. Over the past year we have collected and distributed $17,000 worth of aid to children who have been taken out of their homes, are not protected by authorities and have an immediate need for vitals such as medicine, hygiene products and warm clothing. The initiative has no political agenda and the focus is strictly on the children suffering from the war in Eastern Ukraine.
