IRVINE, Calif. - Oct. 23, 2015 - PRLog -- He calls them "Ghost Bikes" and they scare Brian Ballard more than any real ghost ever could. Ballard, a co-owner of Pedego Greater Long Beach (GLB), can't help but notice people riding their bicycles around Seal Beach after dark without adequate bike lights. "You can see a gray outline," Ballard said. "But only if you stare into the darkness, looking for them. These people are endangering their lives by riding at night without lights." So to help fix the situation, Pedego GLB is offering a special bike lighting event this Saturday morning, October 24, at 10:00. The event will take place at Pedego Greater Long Beach, located at 1065 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach, in the Pavilions/CVS Shopping Center.

This free event includes:

• Continental Breakfast

• Informational Talk

• Information from the Seal Beach Police Department on lighting rules

• Low-cost wheel lighting event

Pedego GLB is hosting an informational talk, with a guest speaker from Serfas, one of the most respected names in the cycling industry. Dominic Galenti will talk about Lumens, Legalities, and Safety Recommendations for bicycles. The public is invited to attend. A light breakfast will be served at 10 and the talk will begin around 10:15.

Of course, Pedego GLB wouldn't host something like this without making sure there was some extra fun involved. So, Beth Black arranged for a team of wheel light stringers from LightMeUpSafetyLights.com to set up a work area and string colorful wheel lights on customers' bikes. A low cost of $30 plus tax is all it takes to choose a color and watch the team go to work on your bike. They're fast and amazing to watch. But the real thrill is riding around at night on a bike lit up with these beautiful, eye-catching lights.

Pedego will also raffle off  a "Ticket to Ride" gift certificate good for rental of two electric bikes for a day.  Valued at $100, this is one of the hottest tickets in town.
