MONROE, N.C. - Oct. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- The Artists Music Guild will be rolling out the 2015 AMG Heritage Awards and Convention beginning November 9th and will finish November 14th with its large awards show with this year's host, country music star and American Idol, Bucky Covington.

The AMG Heritage Awards will feature some of the most iconic performers of our time which include stars like, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas (Dancing in the Street), Billy Paul (Me & Mrs Jones), Melanie Safka (I've Got a Brand New Pair of Rollerskates), Melba Moore (Lean on Me), Sally Struthers, Chubby Checker (The Twist), Dee Dee Sharp (Mash Potato), David L Cook, Christy (Mandrell) Sutherland, Terri Gibbs (Somebody's Knockin), Mallory Lewis and Lamb Chop, Kat Williams and so many more. Some local and long distance public school choirs have been invited to appear on the Heritage Awards and to perform with these legends.

Schools participating this year are East Elementary, Walter Bickett Elementary, Cuthbertson High School, Sterling Elementary, Pine Lake Preparatory and Rockingham County Middle School. The Artists Music Guild's mission is to work with the schools and give students an opportunity they might not otherwise be afforded. "It's very important to us as performers and community leaders to be able to give back when we have been given so much” said recording star, David L Cook who is also the executive president of the Artists Music Guild. "All of the stars appearing this year have a desire to give back and we are so thankful they are doing it through the Guild." Cook who is a 7 time Emmy Award winning recording artist is thrilled to bring the convention and awards show back to Union County for the second year. Last year's show was hosted by country music star Billy Gilman and famed puppet Lamb Chop. "I had the best time of my life and working with those kids and seeing their faces light up when those cameras came on was sheer happiness to me" stated Billy Gilman.

North Carolina Secretary of State, Elaine Marshall will be in attendance to present the Guild and the City of Monroe with a citation for their work in the furtherance of the arts through education. The secretary will be but one dignitary of the evening. The representatives from ECJ Luxe Collection (Diamonds Direct) and Waldan International will be outfitting all of the stars with diamonds and watches from their new ECJ Luxe Collection. Stars will be outfitted with more than 2.5 million dollars in diamonds and watches as they come up the red carpet. Cook said that security has been stepped up by both the Guild and Diamonds Direct to accommodate such a collection.

This year there will be programs open to the public throughout the week. On November 11th the Monroe Crossings Mall will be the venue for a complete day of concerts and public appearances. The public will be able to come out and see Bucky Covington and other stars. Concerts will start around 10 am and will run until 5 pm. The concerts are free to the public.
