Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Expands Into Cape Coral with Retail Plaza Development

BRADENTON, Fla. - Oct. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Satterfield & Pontikes Construction (S&P) of Sarasota, an award-winning construction manager and design-builder, has been awarded a $4 million contract to serve as construction manager for the Cape Coral Marketplace. The project includes infrastructure, utilities and landscape for four building pads and marks the 19^th for S&P since the company entered the Florida market under the direction of T. Craig Campbell, director of operations. “We’ve grown substantially since introducing our operations into the Florida market,” said Campbell. “With this growth comes the opportunity to bring jobs to the community, and we’re proud to have expanded from a staff of three to a full-time team of 16 from 2014 to 2015.”

Located at the southeast corner of Pine Island Road and Hibiscus Drive, the plaza will host a 18,000 square-foot Goodwill Superstore and a 40,000-square foot Walmart Neighborhood Market, with additional retail space and outparcels to suit a restaurant, fast food dining, bank, automotive center, gas station and/or a convenience store. The 15-acre site is owned by Morse Properties and situated in a premium regional retail trade area, adjacent to existing Publix, BJ’s and Lowe’s stores.

The contract was awarded to S&P following intensive research and pre-construction efforts, including value engineering and constructability analysis of the property. During this time, S&P gained considerable familiarity with the scope and nuances of the project, which will result in it being delivered as per the owner’s schedule and budget requirements.

S&P will break ground on the project October 2015 with the expected completion date of June 2016.
