Top Chicago Urban Contemporary Dance Company Premiers NEW Full-Length Work FIGVRA

CHICAGO - Oct. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- CHICAGO – Chicago’s leading Urban Contemporary/Hip Hop dance company, BOOM CRACK! Dance Company presents its new, full-length concert performance, FIGVRA - minimalism is not a lack of something, it's simply the perfect amount of something.

Once again, BOOM CRACK! pushes the boundaries of Urban Contemporary movement. This new work is a minimalistic portrayal of the Lullian Circle, sacred geometry, and the influence these shapes have to every day life. Using these complex shapes as artistic motivation for movement, lighting, and props, BCDC will captivate the audience with intelligent concepts that relate to almost every aspect of the human experience. Choreography inspired by love, sound and earth elements, express the emotions round subjects like human trafficking, religion, race, and gender. FIGVRA is guaranteed to lift spirits, and bring up many striking conversations. Don't miss out, as FIGVRA will be BCDC best work to date.

BOOM CRACK!’s Founder/Artistic Director, Trae Turner, is determined to challenge perceptions about Urban Contemporary /Hip Hop dance in the concert dance and fine arts communities. BOOM CRACK! is the first of its kind, in the Midwest, to develop a full-length concert performance with a strictly Urban Contemporary/Hip Hop esthetic. Turner, hopes audiences will walk away with a greater appreciation of the artistic view point of Urban Contemporary/Hip Hop dance and culture. Ultimately, Turner’s goal is to prove to the global dance community that Urban Contemporary/Hip Hop is a respected art form with a voice beyond competitions and showcases.

PERFORMANCE DETAILS

FIGVRA will take place at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts (1016 N Dearborn St, Chicago, IL) on December 11 and December 12 at 8pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at: BOOMCRACK.com, in late October.
