Many men participate in Movember (a portmanteau word combination of Moustache and November) for prostate cancer awareness month. It has evolved to "No Shave November" in the past few years. Men now have their own awareness month.

A man stops shaving for November. It actually has been accepted in the professional shirt-and-tie workplace. However on December 1st or the first week of December of every year, millions of amateur beard growers hesitate for a second and leave the razor in the cabinet. Many will give it one more month and say "OK, I keep it till the end of the year", then they shave it just prior to New Years Eve. As a Men's Master Stylist, I have seen more times than I can count.
