Invasion of Japan Technically Illustrated 70 Years After Planned Start

"X-Day: Gaming Olympic, Illustrating the Greatest Invasion, 1945 Japan" documents wargame of alternative to the atomic bomb.

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- U.S. military plans to conclusively end World War Two resulted in Operation Downfall, for the invasion, occupation, and pacification of Imperial Japan. Its first phase, Operation Olympic in which Kyushu is assaulted, was already brought to life in the journalistic novel X-Day: Japan. Now a technical analysis of the potential battle is released by Stone Lake Press.

X-Day: Gaming Olympic walks through entire battle day-by-day. Detailed military maps accompany photographs and running commentary to explain the decisions made during the epic clash, and why it came out as a tough drawn-out fight. American forces land with unheard of equipment and firepower, but are outnumbered and 8000 miles from home. Other non-fiction books consider Operation Olympic, but no modern works are supported by this type of wargaming effort.

Highly graphical, X-Day: Gaming Olympic is 80 full-size color pages. An e-book version is available, recommended for larger color devices.

Supporting the launch of Gaming Olympic, X-Day: Japan is on sale at Amazon.com. For a limited time, the e-book is 99¢, and the paperback is 1/3 off.
