TORONTO - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Growth in the small business segment is stymied by lacking new-marketing leadership. Small businesses have no one to turn in taking advantage of new technologies which they feel are a better investment in growth, at present, than adding another employee.

71% says investing in new technology would be more productive than hiring a new person.(2)

Many of them feel the present new technology information is too professorial while they are time constrained.

Survey from several major new marketing (internet) services indicate that while most small businesses have adopted a website many presently use it as a brochure; 83% use their website as an introduction(1), 75% of small businesses has a website since 2013, the remaining 19% most likely will never have one(3).

Small businesses are aware of the benefits of new technology (internet) marketing but have not the time to adopt and manage this new marketing approach.

"Canadian small business owners are busy running their businesses and don’t always have the time to build or maintain their online presence. With our dedicated solutions and tools, we make it simple to get a domain name, build a great website, and establish a brand and business presence online.” - Jill Schoolenberg, Vice President of GoDaddy Canada(1)

Small businesses have a large need for non-professorial new marketing leadership. 60% are concerned about the lack of adequate exposure of their product offering and service, 46% desire more qualified leads through the web and sales conversions are on the minds of 46%.(1)

Yet early adopters of new marketing strategies fail to understand what they are doing. 54% of small businesses say SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a must, 40% use it and of that nearly a third do not know what and wherefor it involves.(1)

39% of small businesses wish their website was mobile-friendly(1), and the other side is that 56% say it has a responsive design; roughly 40-60. Yet only 25% of business owners actually adopt mobile technology to assist them in their profession.(2)

Half of small businesses say informative content is a pillar of their website but only 35% use online advertising (e.g. search advertising) to drive visits, meaning 65% do not(3). All the while..

"We also see a lot of clients now moving towards more compelling types of content, such as video and infographics that take a little bit of resources to implement and create.”
— Ted Risdall, Risdall Marketing Group(3)

Small businesses are plying ahead with more sophisticated content vehicles that are cost-heavy yet no one is seeing it.
